Vorige week verscheen de BOOS aflevering over de misstanden bij The Voice Of Holland. Wat een intens nare mensen die hun machtspositie misbruiken. Meer zeg ik er hier niet over. Maar ik moest wel meteen denken aan een nummer dat verscheen op het debuutalbum van Margo Price ‘Midwest Farmers Daughter’ uit 2016. Op het album staat het nummer ‘This Town Gets Around’. Het nummer gaat over Price’ haar ervaringen om een platencontract te krijgen. Price vertelde over dit nummer het volgende:

“That’s about a guy who told me he had worked with the Dixie Chicks and all these big names from the noughties.” He said he wanted me to write songs for other people, but when he invited me to his house and there was another guy there, both of them smiling at me, I realised what he really wanted. ‘Sleazy’ is the word I would use.”

Gelukkig was daar Jack White (White Stripes) die haar contracteerde op het Third Man Records label en haar debuutplaat produceerde.
